Sydney Evans
Registered Acupuncturist
Sydney Evans is a Registered Acupuncturist in Nelson BC, licensed through CTCMA. She has always been
drawn to finding natural health approaches rather than using pharmaceuticals or invasive procedures where
possible. This led her to discover the Canadian Acupressure College in Haida Gwaii where she studied Five
Element Acupressure. After receiving her diploma, she wanted to further her studies and enrolled in the
Kootenay Columbia College of Integrative Health Sciences to study Acupuncture. Sydney completed over
2500 hours of academic classes and spent 5 months working in a busy student clinic where she treated many
patients with a wide range of health complaints. She enjoyed seeing patients, creating professional relationships
with them, developing personalized treatment plans and seeing the progress and changes in their health over
time.
Through her practical experience, Sydney has learned that there is not one approach that works for everyone.
Each individual is unique in which treatment is best for them. Acupuncture treatments assist the body in
regaining equilibrium and health by correcting imbalances naturally. They are personalized and consist of
different modalities depending on your needs. These modalities include acupuncture, acupressure/Tui na
massage, cupping, moxibustion, dietary and lifestyle guidance.
Sydney has seen the benefits and effectiveness of acupuncture and looks forward to sharing this with the community.
In her free time, Sydney loves to spend her days outdoors gardening, camping, exploring in nature, palying soccer and baseball
in the summer and snowboarding in the winter. She also graduated from the Jewelry Certificate program at the
Kootenay Studio Arts in Nelson, BC and enjoys spending time being creative and making jewelry.
